The Crosbie Tree Family ID numbering system:
Sir John C. Crosbie and Lady Mitchie Ann Manual are considered the source couple for the family tree. Each child of Sir John and Lady Mitchie Ann have been assigned a number by birth order. So, first born is 1.0, second born, 2.0, and so forth. Descendants from these children are then assigned the same first digit followed by a decimal and then the birth order number for that generation. This helps to identify members of the same branch of the family tree. With 13 children we have 13 “branches” of the tree. So, for example ID 5.1.3 would designate the fifth child of Sir John and Lady Mitchie Ann, Cheslie Arthur Crosbie’s (5.0), first child Joan Elise Crosbie’s (5.1), third child Susan Elise Jenkins (5.1.3). Susan’s first born would be 5.1.3.1, or Noah Bailey. Anyone with the same starting number is from the same “branch” of the tree.
The family ID numbers are recorded in our electronic database and show up in most reports to the right of each person's name. An S following an ID number indicates a spouse of that family member.
